I've moved out of Washington State, (sort of). Still hanging around to finish up some loose ends.

Anyway, those of us still around North Eastern Washington State have been smelling the Forest Service burn down our local forests for almost two months now. While they don't ALWAYS strike the match, they are doing everything in their power to follow the "let it burn" approach to (not) fighting wildfires. Now that our two largest local fires have reached the Pasayten "Wilderness" firefighters are being demobilized, (sent home).

And here is the letter-to-the-editor I sent into the paper yesterday:

"New" Fire, Old Fire

The article, "New fire discovered in Pasayten Wilderness", states the Forest Service, (FS), "discovered" the Van Peak fire late on the 6th. My question is why did it take them so long to find this fire? I first saw this fire very early on the morning of the 5th by simply viewing the FS's own satelite imagery available online. Millions of taxpayer dollars were spent on these satelites so the "experts" could find these fires in their earliest of stages. Fire activity north of Van Peak was first shown by satelite at 3 am (MDT) on the 5th. That makes it almost two days later when the FS claims to have discovered the fire, late on the 6th???

All of this advanced technology provided at taxpayer expense and they can't bother to look at an image on a computer screen every 3 or 4 hours? (ed: Likely not enough skin tones in those images.)

Or was this fire known about but given over a 40 hour head start in order to become too large to put out thereby allowing the entire Pasayten to burn this summer? (Ed: This also done likely to help bolster the claim there is an 80 year burning cycle of these forest, currently being spouted by Washington's Governor.)

I was also sadden but not surprised to hear the Horseshoe Basin cabin was allowed to be destroyed. Years ago, when the area was in question as to it's "wilderness" status, many of the cabins were purposely burned down by the FS in an attempt at hiding the years of human activity inside the borders of the Pasayten. Logging, mining, roadbuilding, and ranching were all present. Heck, there is even an airplane landing strip in the middle of the Pasayten. A runway makes it almost laughable when calling the Pasayten a wilderness, but the FS has yet to find a way to burn down a runway.

Historical Revisionist attempting to hide man's influences of the area, the destruction of millions of board feet of timber destroying livelyhoods, and two months worth of poor air quality destorying lives; Is this what it takes to have a designated wilderness in our backyards?

It's high time the FS stopped blowing around all this smoke.

I would much rather we return the other Washington to wilderness status.

You can check out the satelite images for yourself, starting at their archive page here. Find Sept. 5th and click on the 3 am link to the map image, and you will see the first mapping of this "new" old fire.

I realize for non-locals of the area it may be difficult to find where I am talking about on the maps. At the top of Washington State there are two large fires, the Tatoosh complex, (reaching into Canada), and the Tripod complex. Red dots indictate recent burning, (past 12 hours), orange dots past 24 hours, and the yellow areas is previously burned area.

So, the first red dots of this "new" fire are just to the right and below the words "TATOOSH COMPLEX". They may not be noticed by someone not looking for them, but I noticed and I am certainly not one of the "experts" being paid to watch this forest burn.

Finally, if you look at the map from around the time the FS says they "discovered" this fire, 7 pm on the 6th, the fire looks to have tripled in size, making a quick put out impossible.

For the most up-to-date maps of these fires, go here to watch it burn for yourself. But don't expect a paycheck for sitting on your ass and watching this forest burn unless you work for the Forest Service.

Prosecutor Hurts His Batting Average

Remember the big blow up by police back in April over some stupid kids who likely said some very stupid things on their myspace accounts? These posts lead some to believe an attack at their local school was coming. A couple of arrests and questioning might have been all well and good. But when the police and prosecutor turned it into a media circus making charges out of fairy dust in hopes of using some new Patriot Act powers, something smelled fishy.

Via AP we find:

Two teens suspected of plotting an armed attack on their high school pleaded guilty Wednesday to reduced charges. Three others pleaded not guilty.

...

The Riverton High School students had faced felony charges of incitement to riot and making a criminal threat, but the charges were reduced to misdemeanors on Monday.

Misdemeanor charges!!! And still the prosecutor could only get two families to sell out and take the deal? What a joke!

They were arrested April 20 - the seventh anniversary of the Columbine High School massacre in Colorado - after a message about an alleged shooting plot appeared on the Myspace.com social networking Web site. Authorities said the message included a discussion of the location of video cameras in the school and how to disable them.
Cherokee County Sheriff Steve Norman has said deputies investigating the threat in the tiny southeast Kansas town found guns, ammunition, knives and coded messages in the bedroom of one suspect.

Guns, ammunition, and knives? Two 17 year old boys, an 18 year old man, and a 15 and 16 year old boy, and they only find one whose's parents trust them with the ability to defend their own lives??? Bad parenting? Maybe. Police and prosecutor attempting to try the case in the media? Likely. (P.S. When police only say "guns" they are talking about shotguns and sometimes .22 caliber rifles.)

These kids lived in rural Kansas. The fact that some of them didn't have a .22 rifle to go plinking with and were not allowed to keep said rifle in their bedrooms for self-defense in a home invasion is certainly questionable parenting. Can you see tell me the differences between these two links? The multiple murder of a family in Indian a OR Armed 12-year-old stops attack on family I might have given it away by the titles. Anyway, finding any of these teenage boys with a firearm in their bedroom only would led me to believe they were guilty of good parenting.

District Judge Robert Fleming told the youths that when he read the original charges, he found them frightening and disturbing.

That's what they were suppose to do. Sheeple get uppity every once in a while and need to be rescued. This insures they stay defenseless sheeple, continuing to count on the state authorized wolves to protect them from the other wolves, (but since this has only become a mind game, being rescued from imaginary wolves achieves the same results).

For some reason a line from the Van Helsing movie comes to mind. After Van Helsing kills one of vampires attacking the city, the city folk form a mob to attack him. The town spokesperson saying: "Vampires only kill what they need to survive--one, or two people a month. Now they will kill for revenge."

He said they have also issued a depredation permit for a cougar that killed three goats on the North Starr Road near Brewster last week.

Shhhhhh.... Don't tell the tree huggers in Seattle about this. It's almost like there is still an official unofficial cougar hunting season in Washington State, (and, oh my word! it will be done with hounds too. what horror!).

I seem to recall an amazing cougar story over at du Toit's, but that post doesn't seem to have made it over to his new site during the transfer... too bad.

National ID. We hear the elected morons bantering about it and the citizens debating it.

We never bothered to stop and ask those that lived through the truth of national ID what they thought. And now another one makes his final front page headline: Jaap Penraat Dies at 88; Saved Hundreds in Holocaust

His crime, forging papers. He was caught by the those who occupied his homeland and claimed authority over him. He was tortured by them and still Mr. Penraat would not tell of the underground connections he knew of which continued to help Jews escape from the Nazis.

Of course, we think of Nazis and we think of Hilter. But it wasn't Hilter that Mr. Penraat feared. It was the little people that made what Hilter was trying to do possible. Or who my uncle likes to call, "grade school hall monitors":

Under-Reported Inflation

This news article tries to put a funny spin on the fact that pennies are costing more to make then they are worth, (a fact that has likely been true for awhile, but was finally admitted to this year by the US Mint).

The cause is inflation caused by government producing worthless money almost as fast as they can spend it. Via Wolfesblog I found this article on the subject of printing money and the reasons for taxation, (hint: it's NOT to give the government money to spend--they only need to print more worthless money to do that, something government does whether or not they receive your income tax payment on time).

Now, going back to the article on pennies, the last paragraph of a very long story reads:

"By the way, the Mint says nickels are also costing more to produce than they're worth. Pity the poor nickel?"

So, in one years time the penny AND the nickel now cost more to produce than they're worth??? Yeah right. But IF that is true, we must ask ourselves the serious question--how close are we to hyperinflation?

How About A "Thirdly"?

"Secondarily, open carry offends some people--especially people that don't like guns. You might not care if you are offending people that don't like guns--but those people vote. Do you really want to take a person who doesn't think about guns, and make them think negatively about gun owners? I don't."

Even the title of Clayton Cramer's article is misleading, "Washington State Open Carry Ban". There isn't one. Hunting would certainly become more difficult if there was one? But, whatever...

The above linked paragraph and the one just before it in his article, starting with "I don't have any need to carry a gun openly in Washington State..." pretty much sum up Clayton Cramer's slant on open carrying in Washington State. Why a supporter of the 2nd Amendment thinks a "need" should be present before exercising a right, I'm not sure.

Either way, if Mr. Cramer feels the "need" to include his above linked fearful paragraph, why he didn't also include a description of the positive PR that can come about from open carrying is very telling towards his slant on the subject. I have open carried in Washington State, (and no I didn't exactly feel the "need" to do so), and I would say the positive reactions are just as high, if not higher then Mr. Clamer's unlikely fear that a gun fearing wuzzy will see someone peacefully open carrying and that would in turn make someone more afraid of firearms. (This would also be opposite of the laws of human nature--we tend to become more comfortable with things that we are exposed to more ofte. Even extremely dangerous activities are scoffed at by those thrill seekers that do the activities often, skydiving, anyone?)

This leds me to Thirdly, the paragraph Mr. Cramer felt wasn't "needed":

Thirdly, open carry arouses interest in some people--especially people that are sitting on the fence of the firearms debate or those who have never been exposed to firearms at all. You might not care about setting a positive example with firearms for others to see--but those people vote. Do you really want to take a person who doesn't think about guns, and make them think positively about gun owners?

Yes, in fact I do.

Either way you look at it, I don't have a CPL/CCW issued by the State of Washington, nor will I ever willingly submit to this government's infringment upon my basic human right. Does this mean Mr. Cramer wants me disarmed? His fear that open carrying would cause a gun bigot to vote for even more gun control laws leds me to believe he might want me disarmed.

Good luck with that.

And his further BS shouldn't be allowed to slip past either: "Open carry protects only the person carrying the gun; concealed carry protects everyone." Wow! Why is it that crime doesn't happen when police are around then? Is it the big, shiny, scary badge? Or the gun behind that badge? You decide. All citizens not intent on violence towards others who are in the immediately area of anyone peacefully open carrying are protected as well--either directly, if it comes to that, or indirectly through a criminals desire to find easier targets. Mr. Cramer, stick with the history lessons.

Mr. Cramer's idea that open carrying does not protect the "pretty young lady walking down the street" might be true if open carry were the only method the state ALLOWED for the "pretty young lady" to carry a handgun and her holstered .38 didn't match her pretty white dress. But I've yet to hear this subject even brought to the table--if the state corrects this "dangerously vague statute" and allows open carry they might just take away the ability to conceal carry???

Well, damn, if that's the case, we should have given up long ago... for fear that master might beat us MORE.

Drinking and Firearms

I have a family member that is generally drunk. While drunk, he is thoughtful, peaceful, talkative, fun-loving, and... always armed.

Scary. I've always watched him close when the firearms come out, (he does seem to know his limits--I am the one to handle the firearms when he's had a few).

Should an intoxicated person not be allowed access to firearms? In his own house? I believe that would fall into a prior restraint type law, which are worthless against those who are intent at causing harm and leave those who don't mean to cause harm just another disarmed victim.

That said, there is a good reason he doesn't get many visitors, neither friend nor foe.

Kitsap County deputy accidentally shoots man (requires registration so full below):

BREMERTON – A Kitsap County deputy is under investigation after she accidentally shot a man. The deputy thought she had her taser in her hand.
Several Kitsap County deputies gathered under a tree in a Bremerton lot where a man – shouting and dressed only in underwear – refused to come down.

"I heard him say very loudly: 'I'm unarmed!'" said witness Kathy Norton.

Kathy and Tom Norton heard a shot and saw a female deputy pointing something at the man who was less than 10 feet up the tree.

"She dropped and was hurt. You could see she was scared. It wasn't like it was on purpose," said Kathy.

"As soon as the shot was done she walked over there and got on one knee. She was distraught," said Tom.

Tasers are often worn on the same leg as an officer's handgun, and the Sheriff's Department says the 5-year veteran deputy mistakenly grabbed her gun instead of the taser.

"It doesn't seem that the deputy was under immediate pressure to draw and fire right away. That will come out in the investigation. The primary deputy called for a second taser application. The deputy pulled out what she thought was a taser and fired a shot," said Deputy Scott Wilson, Kitsap County Sheriff's Department.

The deputy carried an older model M-26 taser with a similar grip and feel of her handgun.

The sheriff's department is phasing in new X-26 models, which are smaller and have a noticeably different feel than a handgun.

The man who took the unintended bullet was airlifted to Seattle's Harborview Medical Center with what sheriff's deputies say is a non-life-threatening wound to his leg.

The man has not yet been identified.

The Washington State Patrol is handling the investigation.

Since citizens are not given the deputy's name, do we treat all officers as suspects of a Negligent Discharge?

And for an update on felony criminal and Okanogan Sheriff's Sgt. Richard Waters, he has resigned from being one of our local armed protectors. Sniff, sniff... Why he couldn't be fired is another story, but don't worry:

Sheriff Frank Rogers said he has accepted Water’s resignation, and his office will complete all of the necessary paperwork to be turned into the Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission.

A 13-year veteran means he slipped through Washington States Criminal Justice standards to get a job in law enforcement in 1993. Sounds like they should have held some of our future criminals with badges to higher standards.

Maybe an ink blot test or two, or possible reading their palms to see if they will one day abuse their power might be necessary. Just don't make the test accurate or no one would graduate with a law enforcement degree. Better yet, lets call all those in law enforcement back in for a refresher course on Constitutional duties they have sworn to uphold. Pick your poison, but "Shall not infringe" certainly needs a refresher course.

Of course, arresting them for their numerous felonies of usurping the Constitution would also do the trick, but alas, they are... "the only ones."

Okanogan County Sheriff’s Sgt. Richard Waters, was arrested Thursday on charges of Second Degree Burglary and Theft in the Second Degree.

Sheriff Frank Rogers says approximately two weeks ago his office received a complaint from Liberty Bell High School, located between Twisp and Winthrop Washington. The complaint involved a burglary and theft of several items from the school. Rogers said, during the course of the investigation it was apparent that the suspect involved was a Sheriff's Deputy Sergeant. He said at that we called in the Grant County Sheriff’s Office to conduct the criminal investigation.

Rogers said as a result of the investigation, on Thursday, the Grant County Sheriff's Office executed a search warrant on the home Richard Waters, where several of the stolen items were recovered. The 36-year-old Waters was taken into custody by Grant County Detectives and booked into the Okanogan County Jail.

Waters, a thirteen year veteran of the Sheriff’s office, has been placed on Administrative Leave pending the outcome of the investigation.

Why was it that you said police should be the only ones allowed access to firearms?

Another source quotes Sheriff Frank Rogers, saying; "If we had one bad one, we dealt with it. We didn't protect anyone. We're held to a higher standard because of who we are, and we should be."

Just so long as that standard isn't the Constitution, right there Franky? By the way, has the officers in your "higher standard" department who were involved in the no-knock raid at the wrong house been charged with felon burglary, kidnapping, and assault against the innocent family they terrorized? Or are your lawyers STILL fighting the innocent family's lawsuit against you? Didn't you say you would make it "all right" with them? What, by getting the door your goons illegally busted down replaced???

Why is stealing allowed in Okanogan County whenever your department gives it's seal of approval? Waters likely had plenty of on-the-job training... where else did you think "asset seizure" would lead him?

Exactly What The NRA Asked For

Sounds like Minority Report, (minus the ability to actually tell the future), yet still including the elitist running the program.

While her statement is true, (being based on a gun bigot's feelings), knowing that her actions are currently being backed by YOUR NRA, should give all gun owners pause. Maybe in the occupied terroritory that you are currently living in, you are willing to support "enforcing existing gun laws." But in so doing, you have given your approval to gun bigots more then willing to destroy our peaceful brothers in arms who are in smaller cages then your own.

Tell Us More About The Knife

Well, we've all heard how badass today's teenage girls are becoming. Now hear about what happened last night to one girl who wanted to play with the big boys: Former Marine Fends Off Atlanta Robbers

ATLANTA (AP) - A former Marine used a pocket knife to fend off a group of would-be robbers, killing one and wounding another, police said.
Thomas Autry, who authorities said will not be charged, had been walking home from his job waiting tables Monday night when four people got out of a car and chased him, Atlanta police detective Danny Stephens said.
One of the attackers had a shotgun and another had a pistol, Stephens said.
The suspects caught up with Autry, who yelled for help and pulled a knife out of his backpack. He kicked the shotgun out of one of the attacker's hands and stabbed both a 17-year-old girl who jumped on him and a man who also attacked him.
The suspects fled in their car but police found them later at a hospital where the girl was pronounced dead. The man stabbed in the incident was in critical condition, Stephens said.
Autry's attackers will face robbery and aggravated assault charges and are suspected in other robberies over the past week, Stephen said.
Stephens credited Autry's military training with helping him fend off the group.
"I would say he had to do what he had to do to stop the threat," Stephens said. "You can tell his training kicked in and he knew what to do."
Autry, 36, suffered a cut to his hand and a bruise on his chest, Stephens said.

While a few head shots would have been a fine ending to this story, it appears it would have been unfair if our former Marine had had a firearm like his attackers. Semper Fi, Thomas Autry. Was it a K-bar?

And something for every goblin to remember; don't bring the gun if you aren't going to use it! Because a rock, a stick, a knife, or handgun can be extremely deadly when in the hands of any person cornered and fighting for their very life, (not just hoping to steal a couple of bucks).

And for my peace loving readers; Don't forget that everyday carry knife and be as comfortable around it as your firearms. One day, that pocket knife might be all our armed protectors "allow" us. You know, like in places like New York City, or Wash, D.C. or Chicago, or most college campuses, (not surprisingly, all are also notorious location for murderers and rapists).

When A Good Man Is Without a Gun

Good thing a gun wasn't used in this criminal attack... err, wait, come to think of it, at least the gunshots might have alerted neighbors to a problem last Monday. Instead, the "surviving" 80 year old victim laid next to her beaten to death husband until Saturday, when family came to check on them).

Hoquiam, Washington. "An elderly Hoquiam man died and his wife is in critical condition following a violent attack during a home invasion Monday.

The man was identified as 75-year-old Vernon Bishop. His wife, Maxine Bishop, 80, is being treated at Harborview Medical Center."

Neighbors believe that Vernon Bishop wasn't the type to go down without a fight:

"He was no youngster but given the chance, I think he would've given them a little battle," said Marlin Ask.

Another good man dies out of reach of a gun. No, it is not paranoid to stick a handgun in the magazine rack next to the couch. Or better yet, carry one at all times, (notice, I mention nothing of jumping through the hoops to insure you do so legally, that is, IF your current occupying force even allows such activities).

So, do you think the Bishop family is still anti-gun? Yeah, probably so.

If defensive tackles on pro football teams need firearms to defend their lives from violent attackers, how much more so of our senior citizens?

US Marshall Killed During Shootout with Police

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - A deputy U.S. marshal was killed in a shootout with police officers, who had stopped the agent for driving erratically early Sunday, authorities said. One officer was wounded

Mary Fisher, 46, refused to stop when officers tried to pull her over and led the officers to her home around 6 a.m., according to Sgt. Vince Higgins, a police spokesman.

When the officers told her to get out of the car, she opened her door, pulled out a gun and started shooting at them, Higgins said.

Officer Patrick Taylor, 34, was shot in the leg. He was taken to a hospital, where he remained in stable condition.

Fisher had been in Memphis for several years and began her career as a deputy marshal in the early 1990s, according to the U.S. Marshal's Office.

What? This couldn't be? A member of the elite? Another one of the "were the only ones" who should never have been given a badge. I am beside myself. How am I going to sleep soundedly tonight, knowing Mary Fisher is no longer out there keeping those dangerous criminals from our crime-ridden streets from breaking down my front door while I sleep?

Now, let's get this straight; We've been told to fear someone who buys a US Marshall's badge over the internet, yet, the government approved method of handing out badges from crackerjack boxes is ok? I'm confused...

It isn't the insane, twisted, bully-on-steriods, officers, who are the problem. These are likely not the majority of police, (those being just a bunch of tyrants more then willing to break their sworn oath to the Constitution) . But still, even they are not the problem.

The problem is the citizen's blind trust that these elites are actually out there "to protect and serve". Wake up! It's a propaganda slogan and nothing more. They can paint their cars pink and yellow and describe it as "community policing" until they are blue in the face. It will not change the fact police operate for their own benefit, whether it be ego, money, power, or the lust for more power. They will not magically be there to save you when the burglar, rapists, or murder shows up at your door. There number one rule is to make it home safe at the end of their shift (period) Their pretty colors and colorful PR departments will not make their "dynamic entry" at 4 in the morning over your hibiscus plants any less deadly.

Finally, the belief so many "civilians" have that the elites may trample on other's Constitutional rights, but would never, ever attack freedoms we hold dear is insane. Yet, that very belief is what is causing us to remain divided, while our brothers and sisters are taken out behind the chemical shed and shot.

SPOKANE VALLEY -- Employees of a Spokane Valley convenience store made things very inconvenient when a man tried to steal beer.

After the store had been robbed four times in the previous two weeks, the employees staked out the business early Monday. About two o'clock, a pickup truck rammed the front doors.

The driver got out and the employees sprang into action, striking him several times with a baseball bat and shooting out a tire with a shotgun.

As the man tried to drive away, the employee with the bat took out several windows, while the other employee took out the truck's back window with another shotgun blast.

A Spokane Valley officer later found the disabled truck parked behind a nearby motel and arrested 35-year-old Michael L. Gatts, a transient. He was booked for investigation of second-degree burglary.

Congressional Approved Spam

Those monkeys in Congress got together and once again decided to hell with the limited powers the Constitution authorized the federal government to have, we should pass some a Spam control act. It's for the children... the people are screaming for it... blah, blah...

We are now left with Government approved Spam and Spammers have an easy out if ever faced with a lawsuit. It says it all in the fine print:

Jury Nullification

A discussion going on over at Say Uncle reminded me of my court case in Ellensburg. Since, I paid quite a bit of money on the transcript of my trial for my appeal, (which I won), I think I'll post some of it here.

THE COURT: Now, we'll be on the record while we talk about the instructions. Okay, Mr. FishOrMan, have you reviewed the City's proposed jury instructions?

MR. FISHORMAN: Yes, yes I have.

THE COURT: Okay, I can tell you that three of them are standard instructions that we have in every trial. They do not pertain specifically to you or your case. Do you have any questions about them?

MR. FISHORMAN: It won't help but I'll go ahead and...

THE COURT: --okay--

MR. FISHORMAN: ...object to "it is also your duty to accept the law from the Court regardless of your personal belief of what the law is or ought to be." I believe that jury nullification is considered constitutional and the jury can question matters of law.

THE COURT: I understand that objection but I will overrule that objection for the record.

MR. FISHORMAN: That's how the system works.

THE COURT: I appreciate your bringing that up....

Fla. Attn'y Gen. Wants Probe of Coroner

MIAMI (AP) - Florida's attorney general is calling for an investigation into the medical examiner who ruled that a 14-year-old boy beaten by guards at a juvenile boot camp died of natural causes.
The review wouldn't cover the autopsy of the boy, Martin Lee Anderson, but it would look for "fundamental flaws" in other autopsies conducted by Dr. Charles Siebert.

Which is worse; the murderers, or those who allow the murders to continue?

Drew Whitley, now 50, was convicted of second-degree murder and sentenced to life in the 1988 slaying. But officials said the DNA tests show that hairs from the killer's mask and hat did not come from him.

Soon after the shooting, a witness identified Whitley, and at the 1989 trial a crime lab technician said 41 hairs found in the stocking mask resembled Whitley's hair. DNA testing was not available at the time.

Resembled Whitley's hair? Reasonable doubt??? Not yesterday, not today, not tomorrow. Not when it comes from a government provided "expert" wearing suit and tie. And never when it comes from one of those "experts" wearing a badge and gun in court, (something mere serfs cannot be entrusted with).

Confessions, no matter how obtained, are considered irrefutable proof.

On to our next story: Jury Convicts Calif. Man in Terrorism Case

Defense lawyers said the confessions were made under duress, after the men had been questioned for hours in the middle of the night.
The father and son eventually told the agents merely what they thought they wanted to hear, without realizing the legal consequences, their lawyers argued.

Further, the son had a government informant attempt to persuade him into some kind of crime. Imagine if a government informant became your child's friend. Would that be a relationship you would want your child to be in?

He, (an FBI informant: ed), initially investigated the money laundering allegations and then targeted a pair of local imams before finally befriending Hamid Hayat.
After Hamid Hayat left for Pakistan in spring 2003, Khan, (an FBI informant: ed), kept in touch and recorded their telephone calls - in some of which Khan, (an FBI informant: ed), urged Hayat to attend a jihadi camp.
In one conversation, Khan, (an FBI informant: ed), exhorted Hayat to "be a man - do something!"

Moving along, we find protecting your daughter lands you in jail, (I might be upset with him and his daughter if government didn't infringe upon their ability to defend themselves against the gang-bangers that rule their streets).

And back to our first story, Mr. Whitley will soon be freed after spending 18 years in jail for a crime he did not commit. Just a question. Aren't these kind of people...

Hostage Taken At Police Station

The planning for assaults and kidnappings are common at police stations, (based on paid criminal informants). Also, most locations are more then willing to accept a bribe or ranson for the release of the hostage... er inmate.

Sure, you can drive like a bat-outta-hell. Just be sure you have enough money to pay the state so you can keep driving that way. (Paying the state is in the interest of public safety, you know.)

Quite timely, Publicola has posted Absolutism 301. The topic now reaches into another great gun debate: Felons with Firearms. Where you are asked if "you want axe murderers to be able to walk into a store & just buy a gun?"

It builds slowly, with background from when Congress suddenly decided "shall not infringe" meant exactly the opposite. Still, Publicola hits on all the points I've only tried to spell out when discussing the issue with friends and family. Only one quote this time:

Yup! In fact, we the people are begging for MORE prior restraint laws.

Something Else the Government Is Willing to Kill Over

Let's head to Florida for a moment.

The only people that want the saw palmettos around are the berry pickers. Thorny little nasty weeds growing in wetlands that no sane person would be willing to enter, (alligators have a way of discouraging the sane). Anyone actually owning vacant land in Florida wants it turned into condos and golf courses.

But, government owned land? That's a different story. While these palmettos aren't even close to endangered, the govenment sees/creates a problem; berry pickers. And as we already know, government solves every "problem" with the same solution, armed violence, (its all the power they really have anyway). This time force is applied against those who actually benefit from the plants existence, in the name of saving the not-even-close to endangered saw palmetto... of course. AP wire

Charles Robinson, a deputy in the Palm Beach County wildlands unit, was well into the fifth hour of his stakeout of the remote swamp when, suddenly, a head popped out of the thicket.

FIVE hours, over a plant. Meanwhile, a driveby shooting and two car-jacking attempts took place. Good to know priorities are in place in Palm Beach County. But, you say it's the law and it needs to be enforced? Ok, but let's remember that next time you pick up a pine cone.

This time, Operation Berry Picker was a success...

This time...??? So, what they are saying is these five hour stakeouts Deputy Nobinson plays commando in the wetlands, he usually ends up only playing with himself... great.

...the poacher and his partner (who popped up moments later to see if the coast was clear) were arrested and charged with violating County Ordinance 94-13, which makes it illegal to remove even a pine cone from a natural area.

There is your pine cone! The law is the law, right smartass? Deputy Nobnbob says so:

That's missing the point, says Robinson. If a picker gets a private landowner's permission to harvest berries, "that's one thing. But if they're doing it on protected natural areas, we're going to have to enforce the laws."

You go, Nobsrubber! Enforce the pine cone law on a group of school kids, then, why dontcha? Not gonna happen is it? (Atleast not this week) So, Deputy Nobhard, you have now caught two of the elusive poachers... what do you do now?

A friend of mine last year got arrested and had to pay $200 for picking berries.

200 bucks? Are you joking me? Deputy Nobnrob, you wasted more then that in gas during your 5 hour stakeout! Thousands of man hours wasted on a weed no body gives a rats ass about for the off chance of fining someone $200 bucks??? I know, you readers are thinking, "that makes for a very expensive cat and mouse game!!!"

You don't know the half of it.

For berry patrol, each deputy dons green fatigues or camouflage, army boots, a black motorcycle helmet or military "Bonnie Hat," heavy duty gloves, and a belt with bush necessities: automatic pistol, taser, pepper spray, baton, night-vision goggles, infrared binoculars, high-powered flashlight, cell phone, bullet pack and infrared strobe light, "so that violators don't notice when we signal a helicopter," says John Gibson, a member of the unit.
To roam the badlands, the deputies use six all-terrain vehicles and six 4-by-4 off-roaders. Most impressive are two Ford F250s, with their 38-inch tires, heavy duty winches and satellite antennas. They hit speeds of 90 mph, though speeding in dense brush is generally avoided, Gibson adds, "because it's hard to stop them once you get them going."

Gibson should know! He's getting a hard-on just thinking about the last time he had to use that winch on himself after getting that huge air while cruising on their own "private" mudding hole.

Maybe if we keep talking about all the cool stuff we get to play with, kids will want to grow up to be just like us.

Each off-roader comes with a laptop, printer, and GPS mapping capability. ("It's easy to get lost in the bush," Robinson says. "There are no road signs - well, no roads either.") Twelve-gauge shotguns are stowed in a floor case; collapsible, AR-15 "Bushmasters," as the semiautomatic rifles are known, are fixed to the ceiling for easy access.

You may be able to spot them, but none of your panzy-asses is willing to go in there and get them, am I right?

And who are "them" anyway?

They are men, women, children of all ages and sizes. Many are Mexican, Guatemalan, Haitian. Some are in the United States legally; many aren't.

Well, now I understand. "These people" are suppose to be on government "approved" assistance programs, not out making it on their own hard work. And work they do:

These are the same people who follow the trail from coast to coast, season after season, gathering America's harvests for pennies on the pound. By late July, when the orange and tomato seasons end in Florida, most pickers move on to Georgia, the Carolinas, Virginia, or Pennsylvania.
But some stay behind, waiting for the berries to bloom.
By mid-August, "they're all desperate," says Lucas Benitez, 30, of Guerrero, Mexico. Thirteen years ago, he co-founded the Coalition of Immokalee Workers, a farmworkers group in the main hub of the berry market on the western edge of the Everglades.
"The tomato fields are picked clean. There are no more oranges on the trees. Families are eating crackers for dinner. It's all they can do to hang on for the start of the palmetto season."
It's all they can do to collect the berries.
Humid heat, which turns glades into steam baths even on cloudy days, has a way of making pickers walk in circles, aimlessly, or faint. (Pickers wear long-sleeved shirts, jeans, boots and heavy gloves to protect against mosquitoes, sea lice, fire ants and the palmetto's thorny needles.)
Rattlesnakes, which wrap themselves around the palmetto trunks to avoid the roiling sun, strike at least a handful of pickers each year. And, says Miguel Garcia, of Villermosa, Mexico, "you don't know what fear is until you have come face-to-face with an alligator."
Garcia, 34, recalls wading through chest-high swamp water last August, a 100-pound sack of berries on his back, when a full-sized alligator surfaced not 10 feet in front of him. Lazily, it blinked its eyes, opened its jaws.
Stock-still, Garcia asked his four companions in a whisper, "Anybody know how to scare a gator?"
"Frogs," came a reply, "they don't like frogs."
So Garcia and his fellow pickers went about scooping up frogs and tossing them at the alligator until the beast shut its mouth and slipped underwater. Just as Garcia let out a relieved sigh, the alligator resurfaced.
"All right," he muttered. "Any other bright ideas?"
The alligator, he says, let them go with no fuss. The authorities are not so easy to shake.
"A friend of mine last year got arrested and had to pay $200 for picking berries. Why was that? I don't think of myself as a thief. All I'm doing is picking God's produce, trying to make a little extra to send to my wife and two little boys in Mexico."

How dare you!

Last year, the wildlands task force caught about 85 pickers. "That's probably just a 1 percent slice of the total picker work force in this county," Robinson concedes. Still, from season to season, he says, "we've been narrowing the trap."

You mean, you had been catching less then 1 percent??? Well, why didn't you say so! Showing such amazing strides of success, (and gaining nationwide PR coverage), your budget has just been increased. Go order yourself up a couple more F250s.

He, for one, has learned over the last several years to differentiate between tracks left by wild hogs and those left by humans. And every day, he gets a little sharper at tracking the poachers. "Nowadays," he says, "I feel like an Indian."

They issue these idiots firearms in the protection of pine cones??? Wild hogs and humans! You've gone to some "special" classes, haven't you, Deputy Robnsteal?

On the bright side, (if there is one): Taxes are being spent on the handicapped.

Wad of Cash Found in New Orleans Home

NEW ORLEANS (AP) - Trista Wright was spending her spring break cleaning out hurricane-damaged homes when she discovered some unusual papers among the moldy plaster board and debris.

"I started raking it out of the air conditioner vent. I thought it was garbage and I was going to shovel it up, but I bent down to pick it up, and it was a stack of $100 bills, and then more and more kept coming," the 19-year-old said Tuesday on CNN.

By an unofficial count, it was more than $30,000.

Wright and fellow students notified the organizers of their church mission, who told the St. Bernard Parish Sheriff's Office.

The woman who owned the house, who has asked that she not be identified, was as shocked as Wright.

"She was speechless," said Wright, an Armstrong Atlantic State University student was among 175 Georgia college students spending their week off volunteering in the city's Arabi area.

Deputy Gary Adams verified the identity of the woman who owned the home.

Adams said it's not uncommon to find weapons or medications behind the walls of homes, but this was the biggest sum of hidden money he had heard of. "It's good to see someone find something like that and turn it over to proper authorities and the rightful owner," he said.

The homeowner said she suspects the money belonged to her father, who was wary of banks. The home had been in the family for generations, she said.

"I had my suspicions about the money at first, but once I met the family and talked to the woman, I have no doubt she's telling the truth," said Aaron Arledge, one of the organizers of the mission. "She said her father grew up during the Depression and must not have told anyone in the family about it before he died."

The one-story house was flooded to the eaves by Katrina and, aside from the hidden money, none of its contents could be saved, church officials said.

"To see that woman's face when we told her about the money, that's the kind of positive story that makes all the hard work worthwhile," said the Rev. Warren Jones Jr. of New Salem Baptist Church in the Ninth Ward, which has served as a base for church missions. "She said it was a miracle. And when you think about it, it was."

Permits, Power, and Roles

I wrote this awhile ago. I've been slowly cleaning it up, not enough yet, but there has been some recent discussions that made me dig it up and throw it into the mix. So, here goes

CCW Permits. Oh where, oh where do I start...

What's a Permit do for you?

How does a gun owner respond upon obtaining a license to carry concealed? Satification, enjoyment, pride... There must be something significant a permit holder gains... otherwise no one would willingly aquire one. Some would say the benefit is concealing a handgun, yet anyone with a windbreaker can do that. There must be more.

A permit holder benefits by being allowed to conceal that handgun WITHOUT the very real fear of force by a Government willing to destroy over that simple activity. "Government as destroyer"... there is something any sane person lives in fear of.

Government as Destroyer

We've been warned about fearing Government. We the people allowed that fear to grow weak and we turned our back on our Government for far too long.

Now we see destruction all around us. Destruction in court decisions. Destruction by politicians and police, and lawyers. We hear about destruction daily. We pray our house isn't next on the list to be destroyed "for the public benefit." Even while we attempt to act lawfully, we look over our shoulder. Was that early morning knock on your door from knuckles or a butt?

We Each Draw Our Line

While there are a few of us who have no need for a line, (true criminals), the majority of us, go along with the system. The criminal is the fringe of society. Yet there continues to grow even more laws which effect the law-abiding, not the criminals. So, do we search for escape as free "criminals"? Certainly, some have.

Still, the vast majority of us just attempt to live peacefully. We get pushed around a bit, but it isn't that bad. We hold onto what we hold dear; our last and final line in the sand, so we say. Most of us quite literally hate the system which has forced our grandfathers and fathers to leave us with a line drawn so very, very close to our newborn feet.

Still there are others that find small places of refuge within this system. Politicians, lawyers, government types. And this takes us back to that permit. A place a refuge. A chance to hold onto some diginity. Keeping hold of the ability to bear arms without the ever present threat from Government. We grasp at this refuge and hold onto it.

The logic goes that since the permit is available to anyone that wants it, there is nothing wrong with grabbing ahold of it. Maybe, just maybe, with that refuge we can hold out until things get better.

What does that refuge do TO you?

The holder of that permit gains power from it. Power over the common man. Power to bear arms without being destroyed by the state. Quite actually, the power of life and death over the common man.

Gun owners may also imagine other powers gained from it, but it truly takes only one power to make the difference. That one power; the ability to conceal a handgun without fear; no trivial power indeed. With open carry having a response from police which can likely leave you dead, that permit ends up affording the holder power over ALL other civilians to bear arms without fear.

Stolen Possessions

We hear of very little men using their powers to control, to destroy, to create dictatorships. We see our own Government expanding daily in its search for power. A Government which has already reached into our televisions, our wallets, our bedrooms, our minds, still continues to reach further. The little our Government was allowed to start with has been devoured a thousand times over.

What would it take for it to end? Can you imagine the destruction required before Government would let go of that power? It would be catastraphic. And so, quite smartly, we obey. We follow. We refuse to step out of line for fear some elite might notice and want our property for a condo, a golf course, a hotel.

In the middle of the worst of it we find fellow citizens who enjoy this system. Some defend it and some ask for more of it. Not happy enough to just survive through this present danger, they have developed their lives around it. Even while knowing the property had to have been stolen from someone else's hands, they live off it. Some collect their food from it. Some receive their shelter from it. Some garner wealth from it.

Still others receive something far more dangerous from it... power. Power which could only have been stolen from others for them to now recieve. Stolen from civilians and then doled to those who willingly cooperate with this new enlightened system. This power is an addictive drug sometimes issued to the willing in the form of a permit.

Yet power is such a predictable thing...

Our Roles

What does it take to have the Government we have? At one time, it might be said all it takes is the Constitution. But, what does it take for today's Government to exist? Everyone of us. We all have roles to play. There must be someone to take from, there must be someone to receive. There must be someone to compromise, there must be someone to stand firm. There must be rule makers, rule benders, and game players. Government could never exist without all of us finding our role.

Pocketing the entire office budget rather than hire assistants… No time to keep his medical credentials up to date? No worries.. He was appointed for life by Gov Bush. (That family is incapable of error, as we all know.)

This bumbling good ole boy (the ME, not the Gov… hard to tell these fellers apart) comes to the "rescue" of another fine specimen of American manhood, Sheriff Frank McKeith, claiming a 14 year old boy who was beaten to death on video at on of the Sheriff’s youth camps died of sickle cell.

Why not old age?

Makes one wonder if the ME & Sheriff are old buddies.

Maybe we can send them all out hunting with VP Cheney. Whoever comes back alive can claim the others died at birth.

It is so hard to watch that tape. I grew up in Detroit and nothing in that tape was new to me, it was just very difficult to see a fourteen year old being killed with such studied efficiency. I pray that Martin's family will follow through on this to the point that the sheriff himself is brought to the witness stand. He has much to explain. And answer for.

As a youngster in a gang I knew how dangerous the street was. I knew that I could come to a time and place where my affiliation with my own neighborhood gang could get me killed. I was part of gang fights and never recieved a serious injury. Luck. Martin's luck ran out when he came up against a gang powerful enough to run on a system of beliefs that is much more powerful than the law they are sworn to uphold.

These officers upheld only one law: the law of might makes right.

The fact that some of those officers on that tape are black tells me all I need to know about just how powerful this system of beliefs is in that Sheriff's Office. The officers on that tape, both black and white, make it plain that they are motivated by group standards and nothing more. Which is appalling.

I pray that Martin's family will find justice and through it that they will also find some peace. I cannot imagine Martin's Mom having much ability to sleep these days.

He's right. "Group Standards" That seems to fit what the American police forces have become. In my eyes, they have met the definition of an "armed gang" as well. Certainly there are officers that don't subscribe to the "might makes right" method of policing. But knowing they can get away with murder simply by claiming "he lowered his hands" or "I was scared for my life" is proving to be more power then the majority of officers can handle, (Yes, majority... How many do you count in the video? How many attempted to stop this murder? How many came forward with the truth and refused to be a part of the attempted coverup? Not one.)

For every camara recording a citizen who wields an increasingly limited amount of power, there should be a dozen camaras recording those usurping the Constitution. Why not? With their daily abuses against the Constitution, ones they swore to uphold, why should police continue to garner your trust?

This statement was made in regards to Dr. Charles Siebert autopsy findings attempting to coverup the beating death of Florida teen Martin Lee Anderson caught on video while at a government run boot camp. You see, they have exhumed his body for a second autopsy and now find that he was killed due to the beatings and they are giving this bastard, "Dr." Siebert a chance to change his autopsy findings???

A MISTAKE!!! What BS! This "Dr." should be charged with the attempted coverup of a murder and the sheriffs deputies you can plainly see beating this teen to death in the video should be facing murder charges!

She confirmed statements from Dr. Michael Baden, a noted pathologist hired by Anderson's family who observed the second autopsy that was conducted on the teenager's body.

Baden said after observing the 12-hour autopsy Monday that the teen probably died from a beating by guards, not sickle cell trait, a usually benign blood disorder, as the medical examiner in the county where the camp was located initially ruled.

"...initially ruled"??? INITIALLY? He preformed an autopsy on this boy and didn't discover a bruise on him that the good "doctor" didn't contribute to life saving efforts. Then, through painful research and examining, he blamed the death on Sickle Cell TRAIT. I posted about Dr. Siebert's lies a month ago.

"My opinion is that he died because of what you see in the videotape," said Dr. Michael Baden, referring to a surveillance tape showing guards kicking and punching Martin Lee Anderson's limp body the day before he died.

Every questionable death "Doctor" Siebert has performed for Bay County Sheriff's Department should be immediately exhumed and re-examined. Any "evidence" this con-artist presented in court should be thrown out. This also means many more murder charges would need to be filed against police in Florida.

Or wait... you say this was probably "the only one"? What's that you say? "The only one" just happened to be caught on video too?? You also believe "the only one" required a SECOND autopsy to uncover??? Yes?

In a case like this, Anti-Tax Author Gets 13 Years in Prison, wouldn't the government want to put to rest all issues raised and clearly point out where the IRS has been given authority to collect taxes? Or, in most cases, to force business to collect taxes for the federal government?

Did the government make their case? No. In fact they didn't even attempt to. They instead did what they have come to rely on to continue to hold up this show, they used the power gained at the point of a gun. From another source:

In an update to the story of Martin Lee Anderson, (which I mentioned in this post).

Martin was the young boy in Florida that was beaten to death at a police run boot camp. It was caught on video tape but police have so far been refusing to release the video to the public.

The coroner's report has been finished on the young man's death and surprise, surprise... the police were not responsible for his death, (no matter what our eyes will eventually see on the video). Article:

"A teenager who was beaten by guards in a state-run boot camp for juvenile delinquents died from internal bleeding caused by a blood disorder, not from injuries he may have suffered in the beating,"

Bay County Medical Examiner Dr. Charles Siebert gave the county exactly the report his employers wanted. Outstanding work doctor! In fact his report will clear one in eight police murders of black individuals. More from the AP article:

"It was a natural death," he said.
Medical forms filed at the boot camp did not indicate that the youth or his family were aware of the disorder, which affects about one of every eight black people, Siebert said."

Did you catch that part? "...affects about one of every eight black people..."

That means ONE OF EVERY EIGHT BLACK PEOPLE CAN BE BEATEN, KICKED, KNEED, AND PUNCHED UNTIL THEY DIE FROM INTERNAL BLEEDING AND DOCTOR SIEBERT WILL SAY THE DEATH WAS BLAMED ON THIS "DISORDER".

Wow... Why am I not stunned by this report?

Hey, "Doctor", please explain why ONE OF EVERY EIGHT blacks aren't dropping dead while outside of police custody?

Do police already know they can use this BS "disorder" to get away with murder and that is why they have a practice taught during Police Restraint 101 called knee thrusts or strikes, (which they are trained to apply to the abdominal area)?

And it ain't just blacks that die while police are only following "procedures" either. Police custody can be worse then a lifetime of alcohol for your liver.

This is really disgusting. Martin's family needs to get a second opinion from this bought and paid for coroner's crap. When those results come back, the Bay County Coroner should be added to the list of defendants.

They ain't ROUTINE blood tests because they don't lead to ONE OUT OF EVERY EIGHT blacks dropping dead from internal bleeding. Where are all those "natural deaths" that should be happening "doctor"?

As I understand, child abusers that don't want to get caught put a thick telephone book on top of the child's skull before hitting it with a hammer. Only leaves the marks on the inside then. And the difference is???

This is making me sick.

Sickle Cell Trait (from "Current" Medical Diagnosis and Treatment)

Patients with the heterozygous genotype (AS) have sickle cell trait. These persons are clinically normal and have acute painful episodes only under extreme conditions such as vigorous exertion at high altitudes (or in unpressurized aircraft). The patients are hematologically normal, with no anemia and normal red blood cells on peripheral blood smear. They may, however, have a defect in renal tubular function, causing an inability to concentrate the urine. A screening test for sickle hemoglobin (sodium metabisulfite or solubility test) will be positivie, and hemoglobin electrophoresis will reveal that approximately 40% of hemoglobin is hemoglobin S (Table 10-9)
No treatment is necessary. These patients should be considered normal in all respects.

From the book "iGenetics" 2002, Peter J. Russell

"...Sickled cells also are not as flexible as normal cells and therefore tend to clog the capillaries rather then squeeze through them. As a result, blood circulation is impaired and tissues become deprived of oxygen. Although oxygen deprivation occurs particularly at the extremities, the heart, lungs, brain, kidneys, gastrointestinal tract, muscles, and joints can also become oxygen deprived and be damaged. A person with SCA (Sickle Cell Anemia) therefore may suffer from a pleiotropy of health problems, including heart failure, pneumonia, paralysis, kidney failure, abdominal pain, and rheumatism. Some people have a milder form of the disease called sickle-cell trait."

...

"...Heterozygous Beta A Beta S people make both Hb-A and Hb-S and have sickle-cell trait. ... .Under normal conditions they usually show few symptons of the disease. However, after a sharp drop in oxygen tension (as in an unpressurized aircraft climbing into the atmosphere), sickling of red blood cells may occur, giving rise to symptons similar to those found in people with severe anemia."

No where do we find anything close to the "doctors" quote, "...a whole cascade of events that led to bleeding and hemorrhaging..." Even in Sickle Cell Anemia we find too much clogging being a primary concern.

In Sickle Cell Trait, what the "doctor" has claimed caused Martin's death, only under extreme conditions do we even see the actual formation of sickled red blood cells. And even if Martin had the worse case of "sickling" of his red blood cells, at no time would it be the cause of internal hemorrhaging.

Internal hemorrhaging could occur with blunt force trauma to the abdomen, which I believe is what will be seen when police finally release the video.

The reaction Martin's body had toward that internal bleeding/hemorrhaging would likely have been the same as anyone else's, (if there had been enough sickled cells to become a factor, it would have tended to benefit Martin because of the inabilities of sickled cells to squeeze through opening as normal blood cells do). Further, there is no clinical findings, (or at least no references made), that Sickle Cell Trait affects red blood cells clotting factor, (note: different then clogging).

Video tape released:

The hour and 20 minute video shows guards restraining 14-year-old Martin Lee Anderson. The tape reveals that seven guards did in fact knee and wrestle Anderson to the ground, according to the Associated Press. After he hits the ground, guards continue striking Anderson who appears to lay motionless, AP reports.

A link to the coroner's report here. The coroner finds absolutely NO damage to the body from what you can plainly see in the video, (how is this possible???) But, he does find (page 4) a "focal subendocardial hemmorhage" in the heart. Hemmorhaging in the heart is very likely what caused this sudden death, hemmorhaging which, Sickle Cell Trait does NOT cause. Further, he finds "numerous" sickle shaped cells, (red blood cells???), in other organs of the body, immediate concern would be on those found in the lungs. Although, it remains unclear as to what "numerous" means or what cells are involved.

These finding are not in line with what Sickle Cell Trait is known to cause, nor what the video shows. The only thing that we can know for certain, is that after "Doctor" Siebert's report, murder charges are highly unlikely against the officers you can plainly watch beating this 14 year old to death.

UPDATE: News has change that Sickle Cell Trait is common in 1 in 12 blacks now. Not much difference. Article here. Some quotes:

On the grainy, 80-minute tape, which has no sound, as many as nine guards can be seen wrestling Anderson to the ground and restraining him. The boy appeared limp for most of the ordeal and never appeared to offer significant resistance. While he lay motionless on the ground, a guard struck him several times, either on his arm or torso.
At one point, a guard struck him from behind, lifting his feet off the ground. At the beginning, as the guards are pinning him against a pole, they struck him three times with their knees.
There has been research - some involving recruits at military boot camps - linking the trait to sudden death after extreme exertion. Experts on sickle cell trait, however, questioned Friday whether the disease could be definitively and entirely to blame for Anderson's death.
"There is a slight, increased risk at the extremes of human endurance, but it really takes a profound amount of exercise and dehydration," said Dr. James Eckman, director of the Comprehensive Sickle Cell Center at Grady Health System in Atlanta and a professor at Emory University.
Research shows sudden death with heavy exertion typically happens either in extreme heat and humidity or at high altitude. Weather records show the high temperature was 68 the day Anderson passed out.

Another Open Carry "Incident"

I had many flashbacks reading this story at Liberty Zone. There you will see the words of a police officer sworn to uphold the Constitution:

"I don't care what the laws or the Supreme Court say. WE are NOT going to have people running around, wearing guns, with women and children everywhere."

Sounds real similiar to how Spokane deputies responded to me when I openly exercised my right to bear arms. And not that far off from how the City of Ellensburg use to treat those who open carry, their city code has since been ordered repealed.

I left a comment over at Liberty Zone, finishing with this:

Mr. Marchiafava, we are actually just lucky police didn't kill us. They would have walked free if they had pulled the trigger. "I was scared to death. Suspect looked like he lowered his hand toward his gun." On the word of an officer, CASE CLOSED.

I am not saying you shouldn't push back against tyrants. Just be prepared to take a bullet. Anyone who wants to continue exercising their right to bear arms by peacefully open carrying should wear a bullet-proof vest. You stand a high likelyhood of becoming the victim of true "gang violence".

SPOKANE -- One man was shot and wounded and a second is at large following an attempted home invasion in North Spokane Saturday night.

... According to investigators on the scene, two suspects, armed with a knife and a pellet gun, tried to force their way into one of the apartments.

The resident of the aparatment, armed with a small-caliber automatic pistol, shot one of the intruders, striking him twice in the chest and lower torso.

Now, where can you get those "automatic" pistols. They meant semi-automatic, surely an honest mistake???

The suspect who was shot fled the apartment and got as far as the sidewalk in front of the apartment building before he collapsed.

Crap! Collapsed, but not dead... Now we are left hoping the legal system will stop him and his goblin partner from attacking someone else. Better yet, their next victim will also be armed and finish off these goblins.

I forwarded the story to Clayton Cramer's and Pete Drum's Civilian Gun Self-Defense Blog, where you can find many other wonderfully uses, (besides hunting), for firearms. Call it "extreme sporting use" if you must.

Caution: Snow Falling

A winter storm just hit New York. Here is an example of how the city folks handled it:

last night I was out til nearly 4 AM with the people from this travel web site I met. They're all really cool and it was great, but I was nearly stranded at 3:30 am when snow came pummeling on NYC and cabs were charging $40 to $85 to go to brooklyn, and those are the ones that were on duty. I was standing out there in heels and literally frozen trying to get from the east village back to brooklyn, and by sheer fortune a cab driver agreed to take me, God bless him. I gave him a very big tip and the car barely made it down Myrtle Ave. That was sheer luck, because I live a long walk from any train station and I would have been sitting there for an hour and walking for an hour, in high heels, otherwise.

No wonder their elected officials don't trust them with firearms. The mayor must warn New Yorkers to stay indoors or they would freeze on the streets.

Now you know why Hilliary choose New York to run for office.

UPDATE: This man handled his 12 inches of snow rather easily. (I'm sure it has nothing to do with it, but we find no skyscrapers in his pictures, nor high-heels. Maybe he just has a desire of self-reliance that politicians are unable to beat out of him. Does that mean anyone who owns a snowblower, or maybe a generator, is more likely to be armed?)

A jury finally gets it right. They weren't allowed to decide if the hospital could take the house where a 93 year grandmother wanted to live out her life, but they were allowed to decide what price the hospital would need to pay to do so. Story:

A jury decided that a Georgia hospital is going to have to pay nearly five times what it offered if it wants to condemn a rental house where a frail, 93-year-old woman has lived for nearly three decades.
The jury said Thursday that Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital would have to buy the 60-year-old brick duplex for $200,000 - it has been appraised at $50,000 to $60,000 - and give the tenant $51,000 to help her move from her home of 26 years.
"It just proves that no one can assume absolute power over someone's life without having to answer to the legal system," said attorney Eddy Meeks, who represented the tenant, Julia Lemon, and the home's owner, Julie Montgomery.

Actually, the legal system is secondary at best.

The power against someone assuming absolute control over a citizen's life, rests in the ability of the citizen to be able to bear arms in defense of life and liberty. If the citizen is willing to die defending their personal liberties, then someone in government must be willing to die attempting to steal it. Tyrants won't last long when/if defending personal liberty becomes the norm.

As for now... citizen's continue to give our failing legal system the first shot at defending liberty.

Washington's First Dog recently died because of roads.

Washington State's former attorney general isn't letting it keep her down. In fact, she is letting it fuel her rage towards the evil of roads. She is in full support of the Clinton era "no new roads" policy on federal land, (for the sake of the puppies).

But now President Bush wants to allow roads to again be built for continued logging and mining opportunities... thereby killing more defenseless puppies, (under the wheels of logging trucks too!). Who does that remind you of? Hilter. Exactly! Hilter was a known puppy killer.

Luckily, Miss Crissy won't stand for it and has jumped on the lawsuit bandwagon.

Clearing Up The Issue

This article about the Danish/Muslim cartoons hits on some points I hadn't yet heard about in the MSM.

The cartoons were first published September of last year in the Jyllands-Posten, one of Denmark's largest daily newspapers. The caricatures certainly caused offense, but it wasn't until late January (after a four month propaganda campaign) that it became an international issue. In fact, the situation would not have turned hostile, were it not for a group of Islamic religious leaders and government officials who deliberately mislead the public, inciting anger and violence throughout the Muslim world.

Four months of propaganda based mostly on cartoons that were NEVER published in the Denmark paper. Yes, NEVER published. More:

Following the initial publication of the cartoons, a group of Danish imams traveled to the Middle East to meet with other religious leaders. They circulated the cartoons along with several other, much more offensive images. These additional images were never published by the Danish press, yet the public (and for a short while, the BBC) were lead to believe otherwise.

So, the non-story wasn't really covered, until the story turned into something more likely to grab headlines: 8 Dead, Embassy Attacked

Of course, the main stream media's inability to get the true story out isn't the real cause of the rioting. The rest of the story:

Since the protests began there has been a great deal of talk about responsible journalism, gratuitous offence, multicultural sensitivities, and such. However the important issue here is not the freedom of expression or freedom of the press. This conflict is about much more than a few political cartoons, it is a clash of cultures. It is also an opportunity for Arab nations to go on the offensive and deflect attention away from other pressing issues, like Egypt's much needed democratic reforms and Iran's nuclear program.

Many Westerners are perplexed by recent events because they do not understand the true nature and agenda of Islam. Although there are many peace-loving Muslims, study of the Islamic religion will reveal that true Islam is anything but a peaceful religion. Islam demands the utter destruction of all Jews, Christians, and anyone who refuses to convert to the Islamic faith. It is a warrior code that demands Muslims live and die by the sword. The truth about Islam is exactly the opposite of what you will hear on the news. Most Westerners believe that Islam is a religion of peace and that Christians and Muslims worship the same God. In public schools we teach our children a doctrine of tolerance, and in some schools students are even required to memorize passages of the Koran. While in comparison, Islamic children are taught that America is the Infidel. We are the enemy.

When the towers came crashing down on September 11, 2001 and thousands of innocent people were killed, Muslims all over the world danced in the streets and praised the hijackers. Islamic terrorists are referred to in the West as radicals and extremists, while in the mid-east they are heralded by fundamentalists as martyrs and heroes, and the families of suicide bombers are rewarded monetary pensions. The Government's Children

Leaving the power of education in the hands of government is one of the stupidist things a society that wishes to remain free could ever do.

Besides education, we now have government attempting to teach children what are acceptable ways to behave in society. I've seen it in two recent news stories.

First, from the local Washington State University campus paper, we have WSU police chief Steve Hanson:

The department’s job focuses on keeping the campus safe, Hansen said, but it also helps students recognize what behavior is unacceptable.

What? The laws we already have just aren't enough to keep you busy? So, you say you want to keep the campus safe. Lets try point-of-fact here. You HELP rapist by supporting tyranically laws to DISARM all females on campus, yes? Does this keep the raped woman safe? Or are you in fact only keeping the rapist safe?

If you really wanted to keep students safe, scrap your entire budget and put that money towards better crosswalks. Yes, another student was struck earlier this week in one of the schools' six poorly lit crosswalks across Stadium Way, (the ones not at intersection stop lights). Just before that lady was struck and thrown onto the windsheild of the car, I watched the car in front of me almost hit another one in the same crosswalk a lady almost died in last year. The school newspaper does a very good job of keeping the number of crosswalk injuries under-reported, (the nearest story on that search for "crosswalk" is dated 12/05/05, that leaves two crosswalk injuries that I know of unreported. This fits right in with the under-reported rapes police aren't investigating).

Heck, if we only removed the crosswalks, at least students would stop believing they have the right-of-way on a 2 ton vehicle; Whose driver can't even see them after dark!

But, really Chief Hanson, the costs to add automatic overhead blinking lights or in ground warning lights at the worst one of these crosswalks would likely require only your salary alone. So, how much do you really CARE?

You already have automatic sensors for the traffic lights to turn green so your police cars can hurry on to the next false alarm at the NRC, (Nuclear Radiation Center). Yes, goons like you are suppose to be responsible in stopping determined terrorist from getting what they need to make a dirty bomb. Heck, I alone could take out your 4 responding campus cops and destroy the building in minutes. If the wind was right, the entire student body would have thyroid cancer in 8 years.

A side bonus of taking you and your tyrants off the street; Now, defenseless young woman can carry firearms for true security and do so without fear of one of your goons destroying their life because she chooses to exercise her right to keep and bear arms.

And I won't even mention the serial arsonist running around campus for the last three months. The paper doesn't seem to either... how odd? P.S. If you continue to play around with him... he will get bolder... someone will die in the fire... you will scream for more funding... the sheep will give it to you... (But you already knew that part didn't you?)

So, truthfully, it doesn't benefit you to reduce crime. The key is to only allow the right information to be released. As long as parents keep sending you their children, higher crime will only increase your budget. You are doing so well too! Soon you won't have to worry about the information part, because your budget will be big enough for a full-time police spokesman.

Enough of this crap.

Next, we find this story out of Florida:

Florida Video Said to Show Boot Camp Beating
A videotape shows guards brutally beating a boy at a military-style boot camp for juvenile delinquents not long before the teenager died, two lawmakers said Thursday.
Martin Lee Anderson, 14, died Jan. 6 at a Pensacola hospital, a day after he entered the camp because of an arrest for theft.
Anderson complained of breathing difficulties and collapsed during exercises that were part of the entry process at the camp, which was run by the Bay County Sheriff's Office.

Good job police! You really shortened Martin Anderson's life of crime. Two days! That is swift justice! Arrest them one day, and kill them the next. No more death penalty phase or automatic appeals to deal with.

Joe has been getting phone calls from a guy going on trial on Monday for murder.

Tough gathering details on the case, but it sounds like the guy had a choice to run away from an unarmed attacker, fight with the attacker, or use his gun. I would think knowledge that this guy had a gun would have caused the attacker to turn and run but it didn't. Now a jury must decide his fate.

Sadly, I know the legal system exists only to give citizen's the illusion of justice. Sometimes it fails at even that. Still, most of us sleep better at night, believing that it and a two-inch deadbolt will stop some goblin from breaking down our door at 2 in the morning.

A small number of us don't rely on this insecurity and keep a weapon at hand. Whether you choose a baseball bat, a shotgun, or a sub-machine gun for protection, you do so for the same reason; You were born with a desire to stay alive. It's a good desire to have. Don't let it die away because of a false sense of security, (no matter who tells you to surrender to criminals or claims they will be there to protect you.)

Funny, until you realize just what the goals of Control Arms would bring. From their front page right now is this "gun control success" story of a disarmed household, doing exactly what Control Arms asks all of us to do, be unarmed:

This is a success story for Control Arms, another disarmed victim. Pitchfork wielding intruders could have done the same amount of damage to ANY disarmed household. Yet, a gun in this husband and wife's hand is the last thing Control Arms would ever allow. From the story, there's hints that the intruders were from the same government which Control Arms supports. Playing For The Media

If you haven't noticed, the Constitution has been replaced by the will of the masses. Actually, any fringe group willing to scream loud enough for long enough that enough politicians consider them a big enough voting block.

Without the Constitution to keep ignorant nanny politicians in check, it has become a sad existence for freedom lovers. In an attempt to quiet these fringe groups, freedom lovers have been fighting this battle by compromise. This leads to many problems, not the least of which is if you are constantly playing defense in this war you will only end up constantly playing defense in this war.

Getting out of the trenches to take back our rights was mentioned a few post ago. I do support putting up a fight against the freedom haters, screaming loud and long if you have too. And when it is your time to go, do so kicking and screaming, (if you are so inclinded, take some evil out before you go as well).

This is where it gets sad. Because, if we aren't fighting for the Constitution to regain the status it once had, we will never be able to go home. Our entire life will be spent on the battlefield. Truthfully, that sucks.

This is one reason I don't support compromising on the Constitution. While I have done it and I understand the reasoning behind it, compromising will only get us into the next round of the fight. A fight that never should have happened had the Constitution never been compromised to begin with.

Two quick examples of the will of the masses being in control therefore needing to be controlled:

First, watch the news* for awhile, *spit spit. See how police line up weapons seized from some "compounds"? The definition of "compound" is any residence with an outbuilding, currently being replaced with the words, "suspected drug house." Weapons will be placed on a table, spread out, and media will be allowed to video tape all those scary looking guns, (whether it was legal for the owner's to have them or not).

Second, I point you to this story; Preliminary finding of self-defense in fatal shooting Spokane Sheriff's spokesperson opens his mouth, and out comes nothing. Well, no facts at least;

Reagan did not elaborate why detectives think there was self-defense in their investigation into the shooting of 29-year-old Dustin Lowe last week.

You see Dustin Lowe, a bad man, was shot and killed by a sheriff's deputy last week. It sounds like Dustin Lowe was unarmed, and there are questions as to whether it was a good shoot, hence the investigation. Don't get me wrong, I'm not making a judgement in the matter, but I do have some experience with Spokane Sheriff's Dept. Inside information that is. Anyway, back to the spokesman playing for the media:

Lowe had an extensive criminal history in Montana, and was being sought in connection with a car theft in that state.

Edelbrock encountered Lowe while patrolling state Highway 902 east of Medical Lake.

Reagan did not say whether any weapons were found with Lowe, or whether he had threatened or scuffled with the deputy before he was shot.

Yesterday's post got me to think about what Todd Beamer might have done. Maybe, because he was a Christian, he knew there are worse things then death. I don't know.

Are there not enough sheepdogs left in America? Do we lack the capacity to learn from Flight 93? Do we lack the ability to master the use of a tool easier to use then a hammer or fire extinguisher? Anyway, the police are looking for the suspects. An awards ceremony has been scheduled for everyone involved. It's true criminals! They wish you no harm. Quote from Sheriff Rogers:

"Were just glad that no one was hurt in the robbery."

That includes you criminals. So why don't you come back to town and join us for a nice outdoor BBQ? The Sheriff may not be willing to provide the meat, but after you get here, we will round something up.

Now, if only all criminals played the game so politely! In fact after such a great robbery, I'm guessing some other goblins will attempt another one soon. Hopefully they have paid attention to the important parts of this little example and not just focused on all that free money!!!

Many criminals prefer to find victims in areas where citizens have been banned from carrying arms, thus allowing the criminal to commit their crimes without fear of an armed victim defending their life. Think school shootings, postal shootings, ect. Ever heard of "gun show shooting rampage"? Didn't think so.

While a vocal minority of Americans prefer victims to be disarmed, the majority of citizens realizes that gun bans don't work. Fighting back against criminals does.

In a tragic case of mistaken identity, police shot and critically wounded an off-duty officer as he pointed a gun at a suspect outside a fast food restaurant early Saturday, authorities said.

He apparently subdued one of the suspects, and when a patrol car arrived, was pointing his gun at a man on the ground.

One of the two officers in the car, apparently believing Hernandez was about to shoot, opened fire, Police Commissioner Ray Kelly said.

Texas law enforcement officers faced off with men dressed as Mexican Army soldiers and apparent drug suspects near the U.S.-Mexican border Tuesday, after three SUVs attempted to flee state authorities, officials said.

Texas Department of Public Safety troopers chased three SUVs, believing they were carrying drugs, to the banks of the Rio Grande during Monday's incident.

Hudspeth County deputies and at least two Texas Department of Public Safety troopers squared off against at least 10 heavily armed men from the Mexican side of the Rio Grande.

U.S. officials who pursued three fleeing SUVs to the Mexican border saw what appeared to be a Mexican military Humvee help one of the SUVs when it got stuck in the river, he said.

Chief Deputy Mike Doyal of the Hudspeth County Sheriff's Department said that Mexican army personnel had several mounted machine guns on the ground more than 200 yards inside the U.S. border...

"It's been so bred into everyone not to start an international incident with Mexico that it's been going on for years," Doyal said. "When you're up against mounted machine guns, what can you do? Who wants to pull the trigger first? Certainly not us."

After the newspaper reported on Mexican military crossings earlier this month, Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff said the report was overblown and most of the incursions were just mistakes.

Stolen Bar Of Silver

Late last year I was contracted to do some work at a gold mine. Even though I had very little to do with the mining process, I was working at the mine site so I was subject to MSHA requirements of 24 hours of safety education. I wasn't required underground so, I didn't need the additional 16 hours to be allowed underground. (Although, I'm thinking of taking it just for the added options for employment).

Anyway, it gives me some perspective on the recent coal mining explosion and deaths. One thing for sure, the right people in the head office in charge of safety is very, VERY, important. We had a good one, plus the added benefit that our trainer was an EMT and the person in charge of safety at the mine--he knew what he was talking about.

The second most important thing is for employees never to become lazy when it comes to safety. (Interesting fact is that recent employees are actually less likely to get a major injury. Employees that have been around for awhile tend to let their guards down... and DIE!)

Anyway, during one day of instructions we were given a quick tour to locate danger zones. Pinch points, nasty chemicals and it included a quick look at where the bars of gold were poured.

Of course, that lead the crew I was with to figured out the best method of stealing that gold... during armored car shipments. The shipments were done at random and only one person at the plant knew when they would occur and only shortly before they were scheduled. That presented problems, but with enough planning and the killing of almost everyone of my co-workers/thieves after we pulled it off, it could be done. (Hey, even at over $750,000 a bar I ain't about to share when the idiot will just open their big mouth).

We got an estimate that the armored car would leave with upwards of a dozen bars! WOW! For that I would be willing to share... if I could only trust them outside the grave to keep their mouths shut... nevermind. Well, when I informed them that part of the plan included killing them... I just couldn't get it off the ground.

Today, when I read about someone who got away with a bar of silver from a mine, I had a hard time not cheering for him.

Bob Morton, Washington State Senator from my neck of the woods, keeps getting sent back to Olympia because of things like this: Washington Wildlife Rescue Coalition Abolished (Yes, abolished, even with a PC name like that.)

"Call it one small step toward reducing the size of government and eliminating duplication," said Sen. Bob Morton, R-Orient, who has eliminated about 80 laws from the state's books while in the Legislature, and is a co-sponsor of SB 6160. "The Washington Wildlife Rescue Coalition had a noble mission, but it has become an anachronism and is no longer needed."

Bob could spend the rest of his political career in Olympia only sponsoring bills that eliminate laws* and he would continually be reelected by grateful constituents.

Over on the house side we have sent Joel Kretz to do similiar damage. Both ran as Republicians but don't appear to be playing the political game that most "conservatives" do when they get a taste of power. The hope is, we only have to elect them as Republicians. The rest of the time they can act like the conservatives they actually are.

Earlier this week Kim du Toit voiced his support for a gun control law. You may not see it as gun control, it boils down to this: Criminals, after serving their time and being released back onto the streets, should not be allowed to carry firearms. I wasn't shocked by the support for this law, there appears to be very good reasons behind it--Criminals tend to be repeat offenders. Some of these reason are explained in comments.

So, felons without firearms? All well and good... in theory. But since possession of firearms by felons is already illegal we can only pick up the newspaper to see how well it is working. Yup, those darn felons still aren't following the laws. Maybe tomorrow's paper will be different.

So, let's look at how keeping firearms from felons is applied. Via TriggerFinger we find this story:

Rebecca had owned the gun since escaping from her husband. She bought it after the required 10-day waiting period and registered it in her name. She knew the police couldn't always be around to protect her. A gun leveled the playing field against a man bigger and stronger than she was. Maybe it would save her from becoming one of the 1,300 people killed in the United States each year in domestic violence attacks.

One evening last August, Rebecca was making the long drive home from Mill Valley, where she had to drop off some papers for a client. She stopped at an Albertsons supermarket in Half Moon Bay. She paid for her groceries, picked up the shopping bag and her wallet but left her purse at the end of the checkout counter.

The momentary lapse plunged her into a legal mess that has turned her from victim to criminal. She was arrested for carrying a loaded gun and sentenced last month by a San Mateo County court to 10 days in jail and 18 months' probation. Her conviction means she can no longer possess a gun, and it might jeopardize her participation in the Confidential Address Program.

"I'm 55 years old,'' Rebecca said by phone. "I've never committed a crime. I'm not a threat to anybody.''

Rebecca didn't think she needed a permit to carry a concealed weapon because California law waives the permit requirement for anyone who "reasonably believes that he or she is in grave danger because of circumstances forming the basis of a current restraining order.'' Rebecca had a restraining order against her husband.

What she didn't know was that the restraining order, which she understood to be permanent, had expired in June.

"The restraining order would have been enough to take it to a jury trial,'' said Ben Lamarr, the lawyer who represented her in court. "It would have created a technical defense, but without that, she didn't have anything.''

Rebecca's appeal of the sentence was approved this week. It means she can spend her 10 days working in the jail but won't have to sleep there. Still, the sentence will cost her $20 per day plus an additional $60 fee, not to mention 10 days of lost wages, the gas to drive from the county where she lives to the San Mateo County Jail and the $160 fine she already paid.

"It would cost me less to do the time,'' Rebecca said.

More important, the conviction leaves Rebecca more vulnerable than ever to her abusive husband. For one, the district attorney's office mistakenly included her actual street address on all its documents, which are public record. The office was scrambling on Friday to delete the information.

And two, she now has no protection. (I wonder whether San Francisco voters considered domestic violence situations when they voted in November to ban all handguns and what consequences women like Rebecca might pay.)

"I'm usually not in the business of trying to get anybody's gun back, but with this conviction, she couldn't have it even in her house anymore,'' said attorney Myra Weiher, who is trying to get the conviction set aside.

"This is scary stuff she's facing (from her batterer). Guys like this don't behave in ways regular criminals do. They're stealth. They're all about terror.''

Rebecca knows she made a big mistake in leaving her purse with a loaded gun at a public place. Her lapse was a potentially dangerous one; it should not be minimized. But how do we balance her mistake against the danger she faces every day from a violent man who left her crushed and fearful, whose beatings and threats drove her into hiding?

The law against carrying concealed guns makes good sense. But so many women every year are killed by their abusive boyfriends and husbands. Restraining orders, as we know, can't stop them. The police often can't stop them. I don't know what the solution is. But something's wrong when, in trying to keep herself alive, the terrorized woman becomes the criminal.

Keeping felons from having firearms! When you stop treating this law as a theory and apply it in the real world, it becomes just another gun control law. Like all gun control, it is doomed for failure, but appears to make so much sense anyone unsupportive is labeled insane.

What? Are you insane? You WANT felons to carry firearms??? The answer to that is yes and no.

YES, I want felons like Rebecca to still be able to carry a firearms.

NO, I do not want repeat violent offenders to carry firearms. But 'what I want' and 'what a criminal is going to do' have no effect on each other. Nor does law effect "criminals". By definition criminals don't follow laws. And a criminal doesn't commit a crime with the intent of being caught, therefore it is to his benefit to carry whatever facilities that crime.

So, what is the solution? Get rid of all 'gun crimes' and provide tougher penalties for the 'real' crimes they do commit. And I'm NOT talking about taking away their cable TV in jail either!

I'm talking about citizen's standing up for their rights and not waiting for the courts to fail us again. If a felon/criminal/tyrant is directly threatening your life, stop him with hollow-points. If one is stealing your property, stop him with hollow-points, (yeah, it's even legal in places). Or sit back and wait for order to be restored by the police, the courts, or maybe the next law will finally work, (just don't hold your breath while waiting). And while you are doing that waiting, rant and rave how George Bush didn't do enough to protect you.

But there is no need to worry about Rebecca. We can all sleep better knowing this law will keep firearms out of HER possession.

How is Iraq, (with what I would think is a more traditionalistic Muslim population), ever going to be the "bastion of freedom in the middle east"? Under Sharia courts: Freedom of Religion, no way. Woman's Rights, hell no. Gay rights, over their dead bodies. Nativity scenes... lol.

'Sharia law' and 'freedom' can't be used in the same sentence nor even the same century. We should get back to destroying those who are a direct threat against us, and stop with the nation building. Whatever we leave behind will stabilize itself out quickly. But stop kidding yourself thinking it will be some kind of center of freedom in the middle east.

I got started on this line of thought last month upon hearing subjects in Iraq screaming, "We need security!" No, not freedom... security. It's a mindset thing. Only if we take over Iraq schools for an entire generation will we come close to changing this mindset, (if we send over our current public school teachers it would take longer still). Do you see the problem with nation building yet?

Stabilize it so genocide doesn't take place, (the simpliest method is to insure every family has an 'evil black assault rifle'). Then lets get the hell out of there. It will never become a vacation destination for gays no matter how hard we try.

I have gained back the weight I lost around this time last year, (and a little more). I actually started gaining the weight back around the time I lost the trial in Ellensburg. Can't say it bothered me much to lose, I was fairly certainly of winning on appeal... eventually.

And that appears to have happened. The judgement order was filed on the Dec. 14, 2005. But it actually doesn't have to be sent down to the lower district court for 60 days, (and can't be sent any sooner then 30 days). This is to give time for the City of Ellensburg to appeal, (if they would like). I've seen no evidence of an attempt on their part, but will probably find out one way or another when I file a civil suit for all moneys lost defending against their stupidity.

This is one reason I am glad I lost at trial. I risked little and was able to rid the City of Ellensburg of an unconstitutional law. And I will be able to say, I hopefully, I will be able to say I did it on their dime. A famous quote goes here. Something about, "if you don't fight when you CAN win, what makes you think you WILL fight when you can't?" Or something like that.

Now, there still remains the state version of a similiar law to deal with, but as I said, I am (still) finished. I will be moving out of state. The wife has been applying for other schools in which to finish her PhD. For gun rights, I am voting for Arizona, but schools in other states have also been applied to. But not California! It was quickly removed from the list. Sorry UCDavis, (not really).

Those citizens left in Washington State... Not much to do but follow after the major gun rights groups and give up defeating unconstitutional laws. Just keep screaming and bitching about enforcing the gun laws that ARE on the books and maybe, (BIG MAYBE), the nannys won't pass any MORE unconstitutional gun laws. I know, it would seem a good time to try to roll back some bad laws, especially when the majority mindset is changing in the direction of supporting gun rights. Nevermind me though, the NRA has a plan... (federalize it all???) Anyway, follow the leader. Step out of line and you will be, just that, out of line.

I will be attempting to republish the archives I moved offline during the heat of battle. Then turning this back into my blog, instead of someone else's idea of a gun blog.

On that note: I'm sad that we gave the bastards California. I would have enjoyed it. (Caution dial-up: many beatiful pictures from California).

Are Conservatives violent?

We know it can't be true when we hear the loney left making the claim. But, as with many lying liars, there are some "truths".

Conservatives, I think, have a stronger flight/fight response than liberals. They are both more fearful and more aggressive.

I believe I first saw this thought at Kim's place, it was called, "violent, yet protective". Has the loney left stopped getting talking points from Rush and now head over to Kim's? lol

Anyway, no matter what the left thinks, the idea of violent, yet protective is a good one. We will do no one harm unless harm is brought upon us. At that point the arse-whooping will be deliveried, (count on it).

While this violence can get out of hand, the claim this basic attitude is wrong is laughable. A cougar is just as likely to attack a tree hugger whistling in the woods as a hunter, (trust me, I know). Ask Marion Barry about that one.

But the topic of violent conservatives, I did want to hit on farther, (my violent side again).

Are individual conservatives violent? No. But that wasn't exactly the question asked. Are conservatives as a whole violent? This answer requires more then just a one word answer.

Where the looney left might have a point of violent conservatives is when conservatives are overjoyed when suddenly in charge of a system which purposely brings violence against those who, like you, would just like to be left alone. Try the War on *some Drugs to start with.

Or look how this system insured a man in Montana couldn't peacefully keep a homemade fully automatic firearm in his own home. Just a man living his life, exercising the right to keep and bear arms, without harming you or anyone else. Yet, this conservative nation brought violence to this man. (Under the "commerce clause" no less. Story: here here here )

If I cut my home-defense shotgun too short, (which could make it a better home-defense tool), violence would be sent against me as well.

The Constitution is where I would think all conservatives would agree to base their core values in. Yet, through indirect actions all citizens, (that includes conservatives), have brought violence to the man in Montana, the grandma with cataracts, and me.

No, I don't believe we would get any less violence with the other party in charge. Likely it would only be directed someplace else. That certainly doesn't mean conservatives should be happy about being in charge of this violent beast. And that is what this machine is.

You see, the only power government has over citizens is the power of violence. Therefore, the only way to get less violence from our government is LESS government. While conservatives claim that idea in their very namesake, their votes continually add to the size of this government at a rate that gives liberals a run for their money.

Does this make conservatives violent? I still don't think so. But the conservative attitude, in large part, has changed from one of, "live and let live" to "as long as they aren't destroying in my neighborhood". That attitude doesn't necessarily make violence, but it certainly isn't stopping this violence either.

It would be wise of conservatives to make a stand against this beast before it rolls into our neighborhood. Yet, too many are so single-minded they only see one fear at a time, currently Islamic Jihads. Meanwhile, an even larger destroyer grows in the shadows.

Now This Is the Kind of Discretion Police Enjoy

In our justice system, police have been given the "discretion" on whether to issue a citation.

With the majority of "crimes" these days having no true victims, this discretion is routinely abused. Who is left to complain when an officer fails to do their job? Certainly not the "criminal." A job considered so important and dangerous that police routinely just let "crimes" slide after enough licks are applied.

The truly strange part is the number of folks that want police to have this discretion without seeing the obvious abuse of power which comes with it.

Baltimore Officers Charged in Rape Case

Three city police officers have been indicted on rape charges alleging that one officer had sex with a woman at a police station in exchange for her release and that the other two conspired to let it happen, the state's attorney's office said.

Consistent with her story the woman was never cited. The police claim they, "let the woman go if she agreed to go into the community to help gather drug-related information." And what of the horrible damage done to society with her initial "crime" of possession of marijuana??? A crime police believed so vile they were willing to assault and kidnapped her.

And like the other recent case posted below, this one once again required the FBI to step in to police the police. Policing their own fails again and leaves the citizen's of Baltimore footing the bill:

The officers were suspended with pay pending the outcome of the investigation.

Because I have never lived in one, I don't know what makes a police state, (Is that circular thinking?). But something is very telling about a society when even an innocent lawyer is afraid of police.

Back to the case, which doesn't appear to have gotten much notice, from my hometown even, (slap my bad blogging): Deputies raid wrong home in Omak

The heavily armed officers, all wearing ski masks and camouflage clothing, used a battering ram to smash open the door to the trailer home, Gahimer said. With rifles and handguns drawn, they rushed inside.

They thought they were at space 7 at the Homestead Trailer Park, the residence of Joseph M. Parisien, 30. He was wanted on two warrants and is a suspect in a second-degree assault, Gahimer said.

Instead, they entered the trailer at space 9, occupied by four sleeping people: brothers Jose and Jesus Sanabria, Jesus Sanabria's wife, Adriana, and their 2-year-old child, Luis.

Gahimer said both men resisted law enforcement officers until they were handcuffed face down on their beds. Officers used a Taser gun to subdue one of them. They also caused a bloody nose, he said.

They resisted you... awww you poor little tyrant. You pricks should have all received an immediate death sentence, ventilated with lots of lead so to speak... (of course, not to kill you... only to "stop" you from committing this armed felony.)

"I feel bad for the people," the sheriff said. "We'll just make amends as best we can." The sheriff's office asked the owners of the trailer park to replace the broken door as soon as possible and send him the bill, he said.

Another common story of wrong address, luckily the homeowners weren't killed... as for the police, they deserved so much more. Yet they got off with awards for not killing the innocent family... well not exactly awards but I do remember it being mentioned locally... What restraint!

...two deputies were issued letters of reprimand for failing to use basic investigating skills and a sheriff's sergeant was given an oral reprimand for failing to make sure the Sanabrias got a new door immediately afterward.

What! No nasty "transfers" for the criminals hiding behind a badge? Crimes were committed that night against this family and society as a whole. Crimes of terror leaving ALL citizens wondering when it will be their turn. (Why did we take the "War on Terror" overseas when we have terror in our hometowns?)

As for the sheriff making amends? Nope, the county's lawsuit defense team/insurance company lawyers have yet to reach a settlement with this family.

Hmmmm... I wonder if the lack of coverage for this case is due to racism.

Officer sentenced for drug dealing

He must have squealed like a pig because he deserved far more then 21 months for what he was involved in, From Newsday:

Among those Gil took the witness stand against was former Detective Sylvestre Acosta, who was sentenced in May to 45 years in prison after being convicted at trial of violating the civil rights of drug suspects by using phony information to raid their houses and steal cash, jewelry and other items while planting evidence.

And our last sentence of the story is:

The charges arose out of an FBI corruption probe.

What? You mean internal affairs didn't respond to complaints from innocent framed citizens??? Whatever happened to policing their own?

Tyranical thugs protecting their own. What do you expect from police whose testimony is cited as gospel by the courts. Police are trained to fear all citizen/suspects and will freely cite that in court next time they murder another innocent. If our courts allow their behavior to continue, police will start to have some real reasons for this fear. A guardrail is currently more dangerous to police then citizens. They don't even make the list... yet.

With what police are "legally" allowed to do to citizens on a daily basis and then this crap, you have to wonder why we traded one tyrant a thousand miles away for a thousand tyrants less then a mile away, working right out of your city hall and police stations. No? Not in your town, you say? They only do that stuff to the "bad" guys, you say?

Read this again; "using phony information to raid their houses and steal cash, jewelry and other items while planting evidence." And this came out only after FBI stepped in. (Who is left to investigate the FBI?) With police a transfer would have been in order for simply stealing and planting evidence, (even unjustified shootings of a citizen are a "personal matter" leading to a... transfer).

You may draw your own line in the sand. For me, they have all failed to uphold their oath to the Constitutional, so I trust not one tyrant.

Justices Tell Ladies To Get Armed

Quite an odd sentence for drug charges? Although, this guy has a "long history of domestic violence". Why he hasn't already been punished for this "long history", we aren't told? Another source. Anyway:

When Brandenburg is released from prison in October, he will be banned from living with any woman for a year. He must notify women with whom he has social contact of his history of violence, and must tell his probation officer within 12 hours of meeting them."

How badly could he beat a woman in 12 hours? But, the quote from the appeals court finally made some sense:

"Enough ladies are getting armed these days that we are hoping that his next victim will just shoot him. Our justice system is a complete failure in dealing with domestic violence offenders. We only pray his next victim will be one of those armed ladies and be willing to do what we don't have the balls for."

While I am against the violation of my rights by this current government, I am not naive enough to believe that different leadership would stop those violations, (nor even lessen the abuse of power). The 'people' have decided to allow government to grow at will. The courts have decided the Constitution should be a "living" document, (giving the people whatever they want). Voting to have someone else drive this steamroller into someone else's neighborhood is just as destructive.

That would be the growth of government, (and centralized at that). That would be a liberal idea. Government should NEVER be allowed to decide how a person keeps or bears arms, ("shall not infringe"). Laws, which everyone knows are violating the RKBA, should be challenged at every usurpation. Yet, there are gun rights groups screaming we NEED "nation wide CCWs"??? What the hell are wrong with these people? Can they not see that that is GROWTH of government? (Or are they blinded by power, see below).
